Myla Razel Perez Sarmiento (“Myla”) is an Attorney in the Inland Empire office of Tyler Law LLP.

Myla specializes in business litigation, employment litigation, real estate litigation, and general civil litigation matters. She has obtained favorable results for her clients through early mediation, dispositive motions, and pre-trial motions. Myla also has experience in various transactional areas of law, including but not limited to: trademark applications with the USPTO, and drafting, and negotiating contracts.

Prior to law school, Myla attended the University of California, Irvine (“UCI”), where she studied Sociology. After graduating from UCI, Myla pursued a Juris Doctor and Master of Business Administration degree from the University of La Verne’s College of Law and Business.

At the University of La Verne’s College of Law, Myla served as the Business & Technology Editor for the Law Review, the Business Editor for the Journal of Law, Business, and Ethics, and was the recipient of multiple Dean’s List awards. In addition, she also maintained leadership roles for student-run organizations such as the Public Interest Law Foundation and the Asian Pacific American Law Student Association. Throughout law school, Myla was a member of the Alternative Dispute Resolution Team and competed in the 2019 Annual INADR Law School Mediation Tournament held in Athens, Greece where her team won first place out of 53 teams from over 35 different countries in a mediation tournament. Myla is also credited as a research assistant in Susan N. Exon’s article titled: Building Trust Online: The Realities of Telepresence for Mediators Engaged in Online Dispute Resolution, Volume 49, Number 1, Stetson Law Review.

During her third year of law school, Myla received the John Lewis King Memorial Scholarship from the San Bernardino County Bar Association and was awarded the Dean’s Award during her commencement. Myla has experience in law clerking for a prominent litigation defense firm, Riverside County Counsel, and Los Angeles Dependency Lawyers, Inc.  

At the University of La Verne’s College of Business, Myla gained a comprehensive understanding of business administration and concentrated on management and leadership.

Prior to becoming an attorney, Myla worked in the hospitality industry for over ten years working in various leadership roles for international brands such as Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, Inc. and Starwood Hotels & Resorts, Inc. She also served as a volunteer for Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA), a non-profit organization that advocates for children in the child welfare system. Myla is a native of Southern California and actively attends Water of Life Community Church. In her spare time, Myla enjoys agriculture, especially single-origin coffee, the seven classical forms of art, theoretical physics, Formula E Racing (Go Tag Heuer x Porsche!), and spending time with her friends and family.
